I totally agree with you, and bravo to you for forging your own path, Denise!!! You are a hero in my eyes.

My point with this essay is, basically, that I think the nonbinary label is so popular because you have to openly flout conventions around what it means to be a woman in order to be an authentic woman. I still identify as a woman. But I love that the label of nonbinary is drawing so much attention to the spectrum of gender, rather than this extreme cultural insistence on a binary of masculime and feminine.
