It's a very thinly disguised way of trying to insist that women be physically weak and therefore incapable of fending for themselves. That's patriarchy in a nutshell: Employ every possible psychological manipulation to keep women small, weak, and helpless. If every woman on earth began exploring the boundaries of her own strength and endurance, patriarchy wouldn't last a month.
