Thank you Candra! I have also had conversations with...how should I put it....more "traditionally" genderqueer folks, like butch lesbians or men who've adopted feminine stereotypes as core features of their personality, struggling with the nonbinary paradigm. When you spend your life fighting to be accepted on the opposite pole of the binary than the one you were told you were supposed to be, people who insist on taking up residence between the poles must feel pretty obstinate and maybe even frustrating/annoying. And my point to those people is basically what I say here: There is a beautiful, welcoming place for you on the spectrum. The binary is harmful to ALL of us. You can be whatever you want to be, but it's extra awesome if what you want to be is also who you truly are, whatever that maybe. I LOVE me a butch lesbian, for what it's worth. :) I will post the link to this piece as asked!
